LOGAN KHEYLIK
Cadet Advanced Belt
Taekwondo has meant a lot to me. I have been doing Taekwondo since I was four and I am eleven now. I have been doing Taekwondo for as long as I can remember. I remember watching my sisters train and compete at tournaments before I could start my training. I think that I have accomplished a lot in these seven years in Taekwondo. I have trained 5-6 days per week for the last 7 years. I have also done many local and national tournaments. I started competing in both Poomsae and Sparring, but right now I am mostly focused on sparring. I am currently a red belt with a black stripe. I think going from white to red belt is awesome. Every time I test I feel like I accomplish something new. I have been red belt for a couple of years now. I have been learning how to be an assistant instructor at our Dojang so I can help Master Garr with classes when I become a black belt. Teakwondo has made me develop skills in Taekwondo and I love going to tournaments and especially rumbles because you can fight in more matches.  My short term goal is to keep on earning money by working at Taekwondo for now until I get older. I have been doing good on teaching but, I still have a lot to learn. My long term goal is to work at Apple. I want to work at Apple so I can be a manager there. These are my short and long term goals.

For me being Jewish means praising God, or Adonai for the miracles he has brought to us. Every Sunday I have fun learning the Jewish culture. I also do arts and crafts that teach us about the Jewish holidays. Some of the older students help us. On Sunday it is fun for the little kids and sometimes challenging for the older kids. I also go to classes on Tuesday to learn Hebrew for my upcoming Bar-mitzvah. I still have a couple of years to go, but I am excited about the ceremony and party my parents will have for me to celebrate becoming man in the Jewish culture. I watched my cousin Eli and Ethan have their Bar-mitzvah’s and they were very fun. On Tuesday’s we also learn about chants and more about the history and the reasoning behind it all.
