Jaime Drescher

Senior Black Belt

Taekwondo has been the constant in my life since the year 1999. I am thankful for taekwondo always – friends that turned into family, schools that turned into second homes, instructors and coaches that turned into second parents. Taekwondo presents a consistent stream of new challenges – skills to conquer, techniques to master, attention to detail, and the consistent test of being a well-rounded athlete.

As a 3rd Degree black belt, I want to continue to advance through the ranks. I have big challenges ahead, but I am ready to face them head on. I have a score to settle in the 2021 Maccabi Games, and I can’t wait! In the meantime, I look to continue to compete in AAU, as well as USAT Competitions. As a grandchild of Holocaust survivors, being Jewish is a title I wear with both pride and honor.

My grandparents fought their way to America post war to start a new life for themselves and their children, and I carry that with me every day. Being Jewish has provided me with so many opportunities to travel abroad, connect with other Jews, and discover more about my religion and heritage. To now have the opportunity to combine taekwondo and Judaism is a dream come true.
